Alexis Warden-Calderon was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota into a military family. After several relocations to different states, she currently lives in Broward County, Florida. She received her BFA from Florida International University in 2016. Warden creates abstract landscape paintings that are an exploration of color, marks, location, and her emotional state. She is interested in how her emotions influence the way she paints, likewise, how the time or day influences her color choices. When creating work, she desires to create a presence and emotional memory for herself, rather than creating a realistic painting of a landscape.
